I am using Win ME.
When I click on Internet Explorer it will not open. The hour glass appears for a moment and then disappears. However, if I click on My Computer when hour glass is up Internet Explorer will open and everything is fine.
I installed Ad Aware 6 a few weeks ago to remove spyware. My problem has been happening since. So, maybe this has something to do with it. I might have deleted something that triggered my problem when on Ad Aware.
Maybe something is wrong with the driver?

The above suggestion may very well work.

If not,
I would do a virus, trojan, and spyware scan(SpyBot & Adaware)as well.Keep in mind, you may have deleted a spyware component that will not let the software it was bundled with work properly. There are a few nasty spywares out there that will leave remnants even after a "supposed" removal.Do you remember exactly what it was you deleted with Adaware? What kind of questionable programs do you have installed,if any?

A Disk Cleanup, sacandisk and defrag may not hurt either.

System Restore...

Hi,

I would disable TSRS in Safe mode (F8 Boot).

Click Start|Run type in Msconfig|click ok|click the startup tab| untick adware and anything that may look related.| Click ok and reboot.
