Recently I downloaded updates from microsoft and now I cannot access yahoo or many other websites, when I pull up yahoo it comes up saying there is an error with iexplorer.exe, it then restarts explorer. A screen comes up asking if you would like to notify microsoft of the problem, in addition there have been other problems since this change, I cannot type on any websites such as this one or message boards where you have to enter text, or log into email because it does not allow you to type, is this a java error? how would I fix this, also when I try to acess my Control panel in windows its blank and nothing is there, and keeps saying "Error 29" Please help!

Can you go take out the updates? If not click start/settings/control panel and open add/remove programs. Highlight Internet Explorer and click remove. A dialogue box will pop up with the option to repair. Place a dot or check in the repair option and click ok. Restart your computer. Hope this helps.

Click on the Details section of that first error window. It will show you the exact file that is causing the error (it's not iexplore.exe). Post the name of that file, and I can probably provide a fix.

I've had a similar problem only my error is not consistent I've received three different messages 1)
"Lexplore has caused an error in Kernnel32.dll" 2) "lexplore has caused and error and explorer will now close"& most frequently 3) "lexplore has caused an error in winnl.dll" I've backed out ie 6.0 and ran 5.5 fine for a while then did the windows update to 6.0 & started having problems again, backed out to ie5.5 and now am having the same problems I had with the upgrade. When I got the pop-up window I sent the problem 3 times before finally looking at the details & the details had a bunch of files listed & I cudn't readily tell if one was the cause. Any ideas???? thx

I have an HP Pavillion too IGroat1, and experience the EXACT same problems with Internet Explorer: most often when I try to type in a web address in the address box. One thing that helped (but did not fix the error problems) was that I shut OFF the "auto complete" option in my internet options (the option that has Windows remember and complete names, addresses, etc, after you've typed in just one or two letters). I'm using Windows ME, IE6. I didn't used to have this problem until after I installed "Smasher", a pop-up smashing program. But even after I un-installed it and re-formated my entire hard drive and restored all the factory settings, the problem began again (first with IE 5.5 and then with IE6). So if anyone has found a solution to this problem, please let me know.
