Internet explorer (Not responding)

Hi,
I am using I.E 5.5.
After i have been surfing say for a few minutes. IE locks up, i press Ctl/Alt/Delete.
It says microsoft internet explorer not responding.. I do not use a proxy. Neither is IE set up for one.. Whats going on. Thanks

Do points 16, 7, 5 of the post below in that order

If that doesn't clear the problem, Control panel, Add/Remove programs, MS Internet Explorer 6, click add/remove, select Repair Internet Explorer

Please post back how you get on.

I read your previous post..
I have turned Auto update off.. I tried Repairing I.E 5.5 but didnt work.. So i downloaded 5.5 service pack and also removed
Quicktime, i am sure that doesnt help.. As the problems appear when its installed.
