I have been using both Windows ME and internet explorer for a few years now and they've always worked fine. During the last few days though I've begun experiencing problems. If I try to open explorer or even My Computer nothing happens. In the task manager I find that explorer is "not responding". This wouldn't be a problem except that I can't get explorer to close. Using the end task option in the task manager will close the program for a second or two, but then it will just appear there again and crash the moment I try to access the internet or even files on my own computer. I've tried looking for registry errors (none exist) and using scandisk. The latter works on normal settings but when I do a thorough check it never completes because invariably explorer will start crashing everything. Other unrelated programs (like media player, for example) work fine as long as explorer stops crashing long enough for me to open them. I am extremely frustrated with this problem. It seems to have just appeared out of the blue and wreaked havoc on my computer. I would greatly appreciate any ideas on how to solve this problem. Thanks, JP
