I bought a second hand PC but IE will not start dialing. It comes up with the 'Dialing' box but immediately says 'Disconnected'. In the details bit it says 'Disconnected from the computer you dialed' but it didn't even have time to initialise the modem. The modem is fine and I can launch IE once i'm connected through the 'Tiscali' icon. I checked my Dial Up properties and they seem OK. Am I missing something really simple?
Thanks

It's set to always dial my default connection. Could there be a problem with IE which could be fixed with a download?

Thanks

In case anyone's interested, i've fixed the problem. I went into Telephony in Control Panel and changed the setting from Pulse Dial to Tone Dial. IE now starts as normal. Hope this helps someone in the future.
