I made the mistake of downloading Internet Explorer 6.0. Ever since the download, I cannot enter text while I'm browsing the web. I can type in the address bar but not on a web site. I have tried to do a Windows Update, but it won't scan my computer. I have also tried to uninstall and repair IE 6.0 but it won't let me. I have run a scan disk, but it didn't find any errors. I have tried repeatedly to call Microsoft but I was kept on hold for an hour or longer and never did get to speak to a technical advisor. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know. Thank you.

IE6sp1 seems to work ok in ME for my machine but the earlier version IE 6.0 crashed. I ended up doing a reinstal. Hope the eradicator works for you. I didn't learn about it until after I pressed the Format button. Good luck

In simple terms your your 6.0 version may appear to be fuctioning in most ways but the bottom line is it was not a sucessful install regaurdless of what it reports. Uninstall it and reinstall it. Or do what 80% of the rest of us have done and get the 5.5SP-2 relible version of IE. 6.0 is yet another one of those "hey whats that on your shirt" (the finger pointing twards the top button area) and when you look down and up comes the finger and bip's you in the snot-locker and says "GOT-CHA SUCKER" hehehe Yet few of us see the humor in this stupid joke. if ya know what I mean.
