Okay, I am probably the 10000th person to ask
about this, but here it goes. I am having
problems getting ICS up and running. As a server.I am using a Compaq 7460 with Windows ME
installed. There are two Realtek Fast
Ethernet 10/100 Mbit cards installed on this
computer, one connected to the external ADSL
modem (static IP address) and the other to
the client. The client is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 3190
laptop with a Xircom Credit Card PCMCIA
10/100 Mbit Ethernet card.I install ICS on the server, and everything
works juse fine. The server itself can
connect to the Internet, and if I check the
ICS icon in the tray, it says that 1 computer
is using the connection. However, when I run the ICS wizard on the
client, nothing happens. So, I tried to make
it work with static IP (192.168.0.2) and
using 192.168.0.1 as the gateway. Still
nothing.I try to ping from the client to the
server - time out. Same thing trying to ping
from the server to the client. However, I
know that there is no problem with any of the
network cards - there are no conflicts in
device manager on either the client or the
server, and I have tested each card
individually against the ADSL connection, and
they all work. What's the problem? Any conflict between
hardware devices should show up in the device
manager, shouldn't it? TCP/IP or NetBeui
problem? I am getting really frustrated, and
I would really appreciate some help in
getting this up and running. Here is some
additional information about the setup that
may or may not be useful:SERVER

500 Mhz AMD Athlon processor
Running Norton Personal Firewall
Running Norton AntivirusCLIENT

466 Mhz Intel processor

Are you sure you are binding ICS to the correct adapter?
If both adapters in this computer are exactly the same, are you really sure you have chosen the correct adapter when running through the ICS wizard?
