I did some tweaking of my connection with some programs, then I deleted the programs. Now my computer can't download files. It will start downloading them and stop in the middle for minutes at a time, before resuming. I have a cable connection that is pretty static, so this doesn't make any sense to me. Does anybody know how to either reset the tweaked values or where i can find a tweaking program that actually works?

the thing about tweaking progs is you can
delete them but they already edited your
registry.you should find an undo app. from wherever you got them. if you can't find that
you can edit the registry yourself, but its
horribly complex to explain in a post, not
that the process in itself is hard, its
just hard to explain. depending on how many
times you booted your box, you could try
scanreg. to do this you need to boot to
dos from a startup disk, at the A> type
scanreg, select the restore option. scanreg
will restore a previous registry, but it
depends on when it was backed up. I do have some url's related to this, but their on
my other box which wont ^%$#in boot.
you could reinstall windows,he he.

I have three things that should fix your problem:
1. Have you tried the restore function in Me?
2. Try reinstalling the program you used to edit your registry in the first place and set it back to the way it was.
3. install windows Me over inself. This may reset your internet settings.Hope on of these helps. Also a program out there that tweaks reasonably well is "Tweak Me". If you find this prog, set the internet connection back to its defaults and reboot, everything should be Ok after that.
Good luck...
