When I disconnect from the web my computer will not go into Standy mode and I get a message stating that my modem driver will not go into low power state. I can get into Standby if I have not used my modem after booting up. Do I need a driver update or do something else? Any ideas please?

i have no idea. you may want to include your modems model number in a reply. you might also try the modem manufacturers website for know issues, patches or update drivers. If the modem was preinstalled in your PC you might try contacting the PC makers tech support.
