install,uninstall C;drive is filling up

I was having problems with my McAFEE virus scan.I installed&uninstalled&configured it quite a few times.Here's the problem,my c-drive is getting fuller&fuller and even though mcafee is not installed,C-drive has filled up by 25% .THATS PROBLEM#1 PROBLEM#2--I can't seem to get mcafee to enable E-MAIL SCAN.I go in to enable it,set everything up,but when i go back to the mcafee scan thing it says everything is enabled accept email scan.How do you figure eh! any help appreciated, steve

harddrive size? any partitions? get rid of Macaffee, it causes more probs than it's worth.

HELLO GURU, Local disk(c;)capacity 1.30gb. used 886mb free 451mb it was about680 free untill I did all that installing&uninstalling. Local disk(d;)capacity 2.69gb. used 649mb. free2.06gb

McAfee is not your problem it is Windows ME. You need to disable two things System restore (or limit it to the minimum) also disable autoupdates both of these programs are working in the background and adding more files to your harddrive you don't need.

hi steve here again,Solved all my problems.I got rid of MCAFEE and got NORTON 2001,ME EDITION,reinstalled windows ME,(while saving my other programs)and installed NORTON.I got my disk space back too.(I didn't really have a choise after accidently deleteing something important,while trying too free up my disk space.) THANKS ALL this is a great forum.You just have to be careful who you listen to.
