Installing umax scanner..help

I have a umax astra 3450 with no disk where can i go to install it properly? i have been to several sites and downloaded drivers my scanner attempts to scan but pictures come out all black

KerryLeigh, FWIW, Google returns 12k+ locations for drivers. Sounds to me like you don't have the correct one yet. If you examine 'system information' (programs>accessories>system tools>system information), does it show up as installed? Take a look @ drivers: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=umax+astra+3450+driver&btnG=Google+Search HTH. Ed in Texas.

Try www.opendrivers.com - they have loads of drivers, even ones like UMAX which charge - you may find the site a bit slow at times but stick with it.
