Ok, I ordered some new SDRAM. My computer uses PC100, I got PC133/100. I was told it would work, the 133mhz would just only run at 100mhz. It looks like it wants to work but it is kind of scratchy on the blue "HP Invent" screen. Then it says "Missing or Corrupted VMM32.VDX". I know that the ram isnt the problem because i looked in the bios and it said i have 192, i originally had 64 and then the 128 i just ordered. Can anyone help or have any idea what's going on?

It sounds like it is a problem
did you move the modules ?
I'd try the new one by itself
I would guess one of them has a bad address.
Most likely the new one
I would try some software to test the memory

BTW I mostly get crucial memory
I've never had a problem with it new or used.

Also getting used memory can be good if you trust the judgement of the prior owner.

Most of the faulty memory I've gotton has come from a local shop.
I just took it back and got it replaced
and the second time it happened I stopped getting my RAM there.

Make sure the chips are fully seated. The clips that lock the chips in place should go into place by themselves, if you have to put the clips in place with your fingers, you aren't pushing quite hard enough. It might also help to clean the slot(s) with compressed air if you didn't before inserting the chip(s).

Make sure the largest module is in the first socket.

Make and run the boot diskette with DocMemory_v2.0 memory test on it, and run the memory test to check out your system and memory.
