installing my printer driver

....getting an error on the computer at windows screen on boot up, an error which keeps poppin up when u close it, then freezes the computer.....I am positive that the error is printer related and if i can just install the driver it will be corrected, but how can I do that? the error message is in the way of me doing anything. I tried safe mode but i cant install drivers on that either, i thought maybe a boot disk, but would that even work? any suggestions are welcome.(WINme user)

Hi,
go back again in SAFE MODE, then go to start/Run... then type "msconfig" click OK , then go to WIN.INI tab open the WINDOWS line under this you will see LOAD= RUN= Nulport= and Device= just remove the click from Device= .

Don't mean to be argumentative, but maybe if we knew what the error message was exactly we could give better help. I would be leary of just shutting off devices in the Win.ini before I knew exactly what the error was.
