I want to install FireFox as a secondary browser to use for sites that don't support IE fully (I much prefer IE but need to view some sites for research that don't load on IE). I downloaded version 2.0.0.12 and installed it but the problem was it installed it in C:\Program Files and didn't give me an option to install it elsewhere. My C:\ drive is very sensitive to even slight drive space useages or it slows down the whole system (No defrag or anything fixes that and I have to delete temporary files daily, other than that, my system is fine) so I have to store and install everything on the D:\ partition, I wanted to install FireFox there but it never gave me an option. Is there any way to get it to install somewhere other than C:\Program Files? I have uninstalled the program since then hoping to find a way to install it on the D:\ partition.
Thanks,

IE6 is not supported any more and is not secure; which is why you had active x related malware issues last time you posted.
You should be able to install Firefox to another location by choosing the Custom Install option at the beginning of the install process.
When it comes up, you will be given the option to install both DOM Inspector and Quality Feedback Agent. Neither of which you need if you don't know what they are, or do.
On the following screen you should be given the option to browse and select another location.

Like you have a couple of older computers, a 1.3 duron & a athlon XP 2000, running Me. I wanted to get away from Me but, don't think spending money on XP for these machines is the way to go. I don't want to purchase new computers because they still do the things I need them for, office stuff and internet. This is what led me to try Linux. I am certainly not anti-windows, just anti spending money. I keep Me in a dual boot set-up, in case I need it but, those cases are becoming less frequent
