ok i downloaded the correct sound driver from toshiba.com, and i unzipped it creating a folder. all i did was click on the setup icon and it installed it. is there anything else i have to do, becasue my sound still doesn't work. Evertyime i click on the "Alisndmsg" icon that has the picture of the speaker, nothign happens. so is there another step i have to take after i've installed and reboot, are there other things in that folder that i created by unzipping that i have to worry about?? thanks....

This D/L'd driver in the folder now - you know location (path)?, if you checked everything else (mutes, volume levels, speaker power, etc) and still no joy?
Try going to Device Mngr, click on sound device and driver tab and note what details it gives for version, etc.
Then click on "Update Driver" button and direct it to look in that folder with D/L driver.
