Any Hard Drive must have an Active Partition, and that partition must be formatted before an operating system can be installed.

Unlike Win ME, i dont run into this
problem whenever i re-install Win 98SE.
All i have to do is re-format my HD
n re-install Win 98SE n it works,
without re-partitioning. But i can't
do that with Win ME, can i? Thanks

Correction:What i meant to say was..
Would it be possible to format my HD, keep my current partition on my HD, n install Win ME, which i can accomplish with Win 98SE?
Thanks

If you already have WinME on computer, and are re-installing, you do not need to partition or format. Just re-install. If this is not working, what errors are you getting?

I posted that last before your third post showed up. You can format and reinstall WinME IF your WinME is Full Version, and not an Upgrade. An upgrade must find Windows on the computer in order to install.

After formatting my HD, Win ME (full n installing off my HD) will not proceed until my current partition is deleted, which i have partitioned into drives C and D. Thanks
