OS: ME
CPU/Ram: 2700 DDR #512MB
Comment:
I intend to buy a 120GB hard drive; I'll then have two drives. WHAT... are the steps I must follow to get this thing to work??? Is another cable available inside the case? My current 40GB will stay, along w/ "ME", but the 120GB will have "XP Home". Will I have problems??? (If I knew what I wuz doin', I wouldn't be writing this message!!!) Thanks to all who can help. DAVE

David R. Kreiser, your computer won't be happy if there are two active OSs. What you describe is essentially what I have.
My older, smaller HDD has ME stored on it and is jumpered as a slave.
My newer, larger HDD has XP (better IMHO) and is the master drive. All my old files are still available, but ME's inactive.
You can use both so long as they're seperate (dual boot), but that isolates the files so if there're any you wanna use, they have to be copied so they appear on both drives. Deal is that you can have both, but they don't play well together.

How about

1)go to www.google.com
2)type in: how to install hard drive
3)press enter
4)wait 1 second
5)do a lot of reading with the info you found.

Google is your friend and you can do it too!

There is a dual boot facility on xp where by you can setup to boot from either or but they need to be both on the same drive.
