Insert system disk

My sisteer asked me to look at her P4 , when you boot up it loads up the dos screen then at the end it says "insert system disk then press enter" I was able to start the computer 1 time by hitting the f8 key then everything loaded and in normal mode ?? Then when I reboot or shut it down for a while the restart it starts up asking for the system disk? This computer does NOT have a floppy installed Any thoughts on how I can correct this? Thanks all In Advance
