Insert pic in Outlook won't open

Ever since I used my gifs in my hotmail account I can't use them in Outlook Express. I click on insert picture and it just goes POOF ! Any ideas why? Be gentle.. I know nothing about computers. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, but right after I put the above post in I went back to my Outlook express and began fiddling. While doing that I noticed that my popup killer was turning red every time I tryed to open the picture window. I have also been having problems sending and receiving email through hotmail, so I wonder if the popup was causing problems there as well. Anyway, I disabled the popup and Outlook insert works fine now.
