Hi, I've been having this problem for quite a while now, and have posted this here before, but I've noticed some new people coming on, and was hoping for their help!! Sorry to all those already read this!!
I am attempting to connect my mobile to my laptop with infrared, but can't even seem to get the computer side working! I have a built in Infrared port on my laptop and It seems as though the adaptor and virtual com ports are there. however, the wireless link / irmon logo never appears, and when opening 'wireless link' from the control panel, there is only one tab 'file transfer' and I have read there should be other ones, ie Hardware tab etc... Does anyone know why this is happening to me?!! Cheers... And it isnt a problem with the phone because i have had it working on another computer with what seems like similar settings, but win 98 instead of Me. Basically the wireless link isnt working. Please help me! cheers.

In Device Manager, try removing the Infrared port from PORTS, and anything else that is related to Infrared. On reboot, Windows will reinstall. Do you know if Infrared was enabled in the BIOS, when ME was first installed. I vaguely recall that enabling Infrared as an afterthought, after Windows is set up, can cause all required files not to be installed properly.
