infrared against mouse on startup

I installed XTNDAccess infrared device a couple of days ago in COM1. Afterwards I have tried to remove it and reuse COM1 for the standard mouse. I have succeced in using it again but not on startup. I have to activate the driver from System/Devices Manager/Mouse
If I reboot and later start with safe mode it works but with the usual start method it does not.
Does anybody know anything about this problem, or what can I try?

Are you sure you uninstalled the driver for the infrared mouse completely? It sounds like it's pulling up that driver at start up. Especially since it will start properly in safe mode which only loads basic gen. drivers. I'd check the devise manager for extra mouse drivers first then you may have to do a regedit search, find the key for the infrared driver and delete it. If you do, please be sure to do a back up of the registry before deleting or changing anything!
