Bev.... If your objective is to erase the tracking that ME does, there are several redundant files which do the same thing. If you want to view the file you acn open it with Word Pad. If you haven't see int, you will quite amazed to see what all it tracks. But there are others that do the same as well. Virtually every application started, and every page visited, every download, every e-mail, blah blah blah. Of course, I am sure it is just to track terrorists.

Ok I am confused because I don/t know a lot about this stuff, I went to the site looked at the inst. Printed it downloaded file to my both my A floppy and in my C download folder, figured I would have it both places till I find out which one to keep it on, the on the 3rd one says right click and save as target (save to c:\) any particular folder or just in the download folder, that is where I keep all my downloaded programs till installed, meanwhile I will read the 4 page inst but dont think it says anything about how to do the 3rd one. Put both on C:\ for full functionality. The view option will not work if you put it on A:\.

The DELYES! file must be on C:\ for it to work. (Nice to have if you have the Google toolbar, but not required. Not having it just requires user input if you do have the Google toolbar.)

I've used Spider for quite a while, as well as "Wash" from 12 Ghosts.

Spider used to delete all the stuff it found in index.dat files. Or at least I thought it did. If you uncheck the box "run in silent mode" you will see what deletions were successful and which ones failed.

Or run it once, then run it again to see if your history is still there or not.

How may other Spider users are SURE it deletes (or at least cleans out) the index.dat files?

IF you run it in "silent mode" and do not recheck it after you run it, you can't be sure!
