Comment:

Websites are displaying the British pound size on my screen as a capital J. Also, the keyboard on my machine is printing out a capital J when I use Shift+3 which should give the pound sign. This has happened virtually overnight as far as I can tell.
I haven't been fiddling with any settings and, as a complete computer idiot, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to correct this!

derek0, SWAG, start>control panel>regional settings & languages. Be sure your choices are as you want them. There's English English and U.S. English. As Churchill said we're two people seperated by a common language.

Hmm, there are lots of possibilities, did you try a differnt font? In IE, Tools Internet Options Font...

"Also, the keyboard on my machine..."

When typing into what? I'm thinking one or more of your font files is corrupted. Open Notepad and check there, changing the font.

Best
