In need of a miracle

I need some Help!! I've ran adaware and AVG.....after updating both and getting rid of all cookies and temp internet trash....i have some viruses that AVG says cannot be deleted or moved to the virus vault because they are used by critical applications or something......isnt there some kind of logger thing i can d/l and post for someone smarter than me to tell me what's goin on??

You're think of HiJackThis! maybe? Not necessarily the right tool for virus.

Have you tried running AVG in Safe Mode?


I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Most likely the problem you have is an infection in your systems restore files.
That is where there are a gazillon number of files just setting there wasting space, at least most of them are. I had some files that were infected there and had to diable system restore to access them.

It does sound like you have a virus in your RESTORE folder.
Try DISabling restore and then run your AV stuff.
If that doesnt work... take note of exactly where they are...and the names and go in on DOS. Take note the restore folder is atually ( if memory serves) _restore ( underscore before the name)
You can ( and I have) delete things in restore folder thru DOS and it doesnt hurt anything.

A computer is a perfectionist's nightmare.
