OK, I have NO problems with windows ME, but on a new install on my other computer, every time I boot up it says improper shutdown detected, blah blah blah.
I shutdown using windows shut down option and everything shuts off fine, totally NORMAL shutdown. Any ideas?

Sylentwulf, have you went to the update stite and downloaded the IDE cache fix. Cant quite remember which it is. But it's to slow down shutdown so it has a chance to flush the cache. Go to the update site I'm sure you'll see it. If this is not it post back.

Ugh, the update site, that you have to be connected to the internet to run.... I'm on a cable modem, which means I would have to take the LAN card out of this computer, put it in that one, call AT&T, switch the IP address, download the updates, switch the LAN cards back, call AT&T again. Etc.
The only other update thing I could find is the corporate update to download and install. And last I checked it was more confusing than.... well.... something really confusing.

OK, that looks like it might have fixed it (Just had to whine in that last post, I found the updates)
Thanx! Now for my next problem in a new topic. Hopefully, my LAST problem with this computer!!!

On the second. When the popup comes choose to save to disk.
Hope this is helpful.
