I don't know why it's needed, but I have that in my config.sys and my startup. I once unchecked it in startup, but left it in config.sys. this resulted in an unbootable windows... Have been looking for it to, but didn't find anything yet Johan

Johan - You have something in your config.sys file in Windows ME? It should be blank.

Yes I know it should be blank. I recently reinstalled windows, and it disappeared, so I don't have to worry about this anymore. I think it had something to do with the real-dosmode patch (which I don't use anymore). Johan
