Comment:

I have Windows Me (and Internet Explorer 5.50.4134.0600) and my computer keeps getting the error message "Iexplore has caused an error in unknown and will now close". If I reboot, everything will go back to normal until the next time it decides to act up. If I'm on the net, every window I open gets this warning. If I'm not on the net, every icon I doubleclick on (on the desktop) gets this warning and doesn't even open. For instance, if I doubleclick on "My Documents" I get this warning and it won't open up. And every icon on the desktop will do the same. Like I say, when I reboot, everything's ok for a while till whenever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only new thing I recently added was a Zone Alarm firewall. I uninstalled it and it was still acting up. Thanks.

...always the chance a repair of IE may be in order, but wawadave's line of thinking is probably on right the mark.

Thanks wawadave,

The SpyBot Search and Destroy seems to have taken care of my problem. You too, Kid!
