I use winME and recently upgraded to IE6. Since then the IE always froze, sometime in surfing and sometimes in downloading. I had to press ctl-alt-del but then it did not respond to keyboard or mouse. I uninstalled back to IE5 and my machine could not boot - Shell32.dll problem. It costed me ages to sort it out to boot up winME. But now my MS Office asked me to upgrade IE becuase it could not start. I had to reinstall IE6 but the problem came back. What should I do?
OK. I had similiar probs, Empty your Temp folder and your Recycle bin, Delete all of your Cache, (temp internet files). Reboot. If it still locks up try going into Add/Remove programs, find Internet Explorer 6 and tools, Click remove and choose the repair option. Reboot again. I had this happen twice, when i had'nt bothered scanning and Fragging for a while, So do that too. Good luck.
