IE - Error: 29 Unspecified Error

Comment:
I was wondering if there were any solutions for this error yet. When opening My Computer and then clicking on my C: drive or trying to open the control panel I get the following error:
An error has occurred in this dialog.
Error: 29 Unspecified error.
Which pops up in front of an Explorer Script Error error dialogue.
In addition, I can't use IE now. Can't right click using IE, can't click in text boxes with IE or anything like that. Which means I can't use Windows Update. Any help?

Have you recently installed a MS update,or IE6? (hopefully w/o your AV running,if you did)
A new version of AOL,perhaps?
There's a bunch of results via a Google "Web" and "Groups" search for Error 29 and Error 29 Unspecified Error. Most of the solutions seem to offer disabling Active Desktop, repairing IE from Safe Mode, and System Restore...good luck

Yeah, it happened when I installed AOL 9.0 which had bundled version of IE 6.

Disabling Active Desktop fixes the Error: 29 when opening the C drive, but I still can't use IE to run Windows update.

Yeah, I searched google before posting here. The only results I've found have just been suggestions of fixing the problem, no verified solutions. I've tried everything I've come across to no avail.
