I have suddenly been having a problem with I.E. 5.5SP2 ? When attepmting most downloads ,I end up with this white page with a small box in upper left hand corner in that box is a icon head with shoulders profile and a colored box next to it ? No one seems to know what this is .I installed a free download manager and was able to download I.E 5.5SP2. If I install this download over my exsisting I.E.SP2, Iam wondering if this may add what ever is missing and causing the white page problem ? Any input appreciated ! Thanks in advance ,Nick

I would start by trying a repair of IE. Go to Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs,highlight the IE entry,choose to remove.You'll then be offered the option to repair.

I would use the approach suggested by TheKid and, if no success, select Remove or Revert to get back to IE 5.5; then install your downloaded sP2

Thanks for your input. The downloaded version of I.E. wont install over my current version , I keep getting a prompt that the most current version is already installed .Then i tried selective install and tried installing only the V.M and the Multi-Media conponets, with the same result .I havent tried The Kids suggestion yet , I will try it after I log off .I went to Program files , Internet Explorer, Plugins and Iam not sure what Plugins are suppose to be in that folder ,however most of them seemed to be related to Quick Time player (weird). Iam beginning to wonder if that is the root of my problem ,Quich Time seems to want to highjack your system? Thanks to All,Nick
