my icons are faded in start menu, quick launch bar and on web address, also in properties why is this happening I have no viruses I am running windows me on dial up how can i fix this proplem

this might help
Delete the hidden ShellIconCache file from the Windows directory.
C:\WINDOWS\ShellIconCache
Restart the computer and the file will be rebuilt.
