I just found one of my old laptops which works fine till today. Its just that i have lost all my drivers cds which came along with it.Any idea if i upgrade from win98se to winme, would it ask me for any kind of drivers? Or if i do a clean install would the Winme support a IBM390x Type2626 laptop with all drivers. Also where do i get the power metre drivers for this laptop?

you can get all drivers from lenovo.com (used to be ibm). you should do this anyway as your drivers are prety far out of date I'm sure. I'd do a clean install on a PC that old

go to www.ibm.com and input your model number for drivers on the support link. They are all right there for any operating system.

Without 512 of RRAM I wouldn't recommend itt, plus the cost of a alegal XP is probably more than what the machine is worth.

The power meter was indigenous to earlier operating systems, probably 98sE being the last.

If ME works, use that. If you have 2000 rthat would be fine also, and all drivers are built into that probably as well.

2000 Pro would definately be the best/most stable OS on that machine and it would not be slow if setup right
