i need to restore my system....please

the only way i can use my laptop is through safe mode...im trying to use system restore to undo whatever happened but it keeps prompting me to restart before i can use restore.i need help baaad. i have 2 projects in there waiting for me to rescue...is there a better way to start my system back up in normal mode. please help.

here it is , try the following restore method, go to start>>run>>type in "SCANREG /RESTORE" click ok,and you will have 5 choices of dates and time ,choose the one when u didnot have any problem , click yes , restart.

The scanreg.exe/restore will only work if his O/S is win98. This option wasn't availible with win95. For win95 there are instructions in the back of the book that has the certification sticker on it. So can you please post back and say what operating system you have on this laptop. Then maybe we can help you retrieve your lost work.

If you can't get it working again by restoring the registry, reinstalling Windows on top of itself without reformatting should leave your data intact. It's not a 100% guaranteed fix, but it works more than half the time.
