i need recovery disks for Hp Pavillion 7855...part numbers 5012-2005, 5012-2006, and 5012-2007....please help, started recovery but disks scratched, now can't do anything without another disk.

You should be able to get a set of recovery disk from hp for little or nothing. I just got a set from compaq(hp now) for a system thats warranty had run out and was also preinstalled, windows xp . Cost $15.00 plus shipping for a total of $22.00 on a two day delivery. The phone number was 800-231-0900 or 800-841-2761 if you are in the USA.

Message for Katherine: I have the same problem;disk 1 gets a 'faulty disk' or whatever report. Have not gotten to disk 2. If your disk 1 is OK, perhaps we can exchange to come up with a working set. I tried the phone number from "jabuck", but no luck. Dan
