When I empty my recycle bin my HDD will not stop working and is making alot of noise. I have no idea why is is doing this. The only way to stop it is to restart but it will do it again once I empty it again. Please give me some ideas.

It may be ME's automatic recovery/checkpoint feature kicking in. The same thing happened to me when I deleted a large directory structure with a lot of executables in it. ME was taking a checkpoint in case I wanted to restore any of those programs, even though they weren't currently in use.

You can shut off the checkpoint feature by going to the Windows Systems properties' "Advanced" tab, I believe. (I can't give you exact directions since I'm not writing from my ME machine.) Shut it off temporarily and then empty your recycle bin. Maybe that will make a difference.
