Hi, I got this: -CPU: PentiumIII celeron 633Mhz -RAM: 128 Mb (Vcache min/max:10240, virtual memory min/max:320) -Motherboard: elite pro atx P6BAP-A+ (chipset VIA VT82C693A/596B) -Bios: Award modular 4.51PG -soundcard: C-media CMI8738/c3dx pci (integrated soundcard) -graphic card: Nvidia riva tnt2 model 64 (32Mb)>last detonator driver:4.12.01.0650 -network: SIS 0900 fast ethernet Adapter + HSP56 Micromodem (I don't use the modem!) -OS: windows millenium (oem:4.90.3000) -connection: cable modem(RJ45) After I installed millenium, I disable 4 things in msconfig\startmenu: pchealth, schedulingagent, taskmonitor, statemgr(syst rest)... But when I check"disable systeme restore"in mycomputer\properties\....\troubleshootings, it's always uncheck after the reboot!? I spend a lot of time searching on the net for tips to run my system(& some heavy applications) correctly, and now it runs well, so it is not urgent but if someone can help me ... Thanks anyway.

Try this: Go back to msconfig and enable 'Normal Startup', reboot you Pc when asked. Now go to System> Performance> File System> Troubleshooting and disable Sys Restore. Restart your PC and disable whatever you had disabled in msconfig Startup before. TC -M@nny
I just tried it now: i had a big explosion of explorer,msgrv32...errors,blue screens, grey windows,reset,scandisk...During 10 minutes and syst rest is not yet disable! Ha,ha,haaa! I think it's too late now to disable it, because something changes in my registry: when i installed my system the first thing i did was disable pchealth by typing this in start> run: "%windir%\Pchealth\Support\Pchsetup /UNINSTALL" & only after that i used msconfig to disable a few things. Or maybe a file is missing...But I feel the next install will be perfect! Currently, it seems to run well again. Thanks anyway speedy TC Manny!

go to nonags. in the utilities page goto power tools, there is a program called srp and it will remove system restore.
I found a lot of interesting things on nonags- power tools... But even after a few searches, I didn't find "srp"... Is that something like regclean? I use it since 3 weeks, & i don't see no file types or shell extension like "restore","system restore","statemgr",... Moreover, my system didn't generate no more restore folder since 6 days...So system restore seems to be disabled, even if "disable system restore" in "troubleshooting" stands unchecked... Very strange.
