hello, i have internet explorer 6 and every time i try to click on the blue underlined hyperlinks in outlook they don't work, also, on web sights when i click a link it just opens up a seperate blank window. what could be the cause of this?? it did not occur in ie 5 please help......

I had the same problem, You can go to ad/remove programes and highlight your IE6 click remove, this gives you the option to repair, tick box and ask to do that.
This will probably tell you you have a fault in oleaut32dll this driver needs to be replaced.

I repaired ie-6 and no error or fault for oleaut32 dll showed up, i don't see a need for a new d/l of this file , i already have visual basic 6 runtime files installed. also, after the repair and re-boot i checked and the problem is still there. now i am lost!!!! any ideas??

Here's something else to try.

Open your RUN box....start>run...
And register these drivers,see if they all register ok. Type exact as below.
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll

And again get back if no joy, but hopefully this will do it....JIM

Jim i tried all of the above registry lines in run command and every single one opened a box which read:dll register server succeded!! now i am really scratching my head. i wish i knew where bill gates lived !! any ideas, its round 3.

Hello again jim, guess what, after i rebooted my computer and tried the links again they worked.i would of never guessed to register those string of dll's . this forum and its people on here is the greatest resource available when average people have pc problems. thanks a million for all your help and remember: knowledge is power.....jason
