HP Precision Pro Can't Find USB Port

I am using Windows ME. My HP 6300 Scanjet was working fine, but has stopped. When I try to install Precision Pro, it says that a USB port cannot be found.

Is it in Device Manager? If it is, double-click the device and go to the drivwer tab. Insert your Precision Pro disc and press "reinstall driver". Are you using the ME drivers? If not, go to HP's site and download them. I had a similar problem with my HP 3300c but was able to finally get it working, Good luck.

Windows ME came pre installed on my new Compaq computer. My HP Scanjet 3300C worked well with my old Hewlett Packard. It will not work with ME. It says the USB port is not turned on. The USB port works fine when the keyboard is attachec to it. I took down the patches on the HP site for Windows ME for the 3300C but they did not help. Would it help if I bought the CD?

Download the newest drivers from HP. Try to first install your HP software before installing the hardware. I had the same problem with the HP5200C and winME. Now it works. Good luck.
