How to stop games stuttering in me?

How do i get games to run smooth in me, corrected this once before but cant remember how, i had a ten step guide from somewhere. Anybody know how to fix it?
Games such as GPL & GP3 stuttering when computer acceses hard drive. Help!

hello i aint got no 10 step guide.but heres a bit close off all running apps. in the task bar by the clock. next ctrl,alt,delete every thing but system tray and explorer this should help some. you might want to search the forum for more advice.
