Hello.. Can anyone help me with this? I need to remove some unwanted icons in the right corner of the bottom of my screen alongside the start menu. They seem to be half installed web programs. Very aggravating@@!!
Any help greatly appreciated. They programs in question do not show up in the add remove programs window..

Those would be programs that start running when you boot your PC,or that you've started on your own.If you just don't want to see them,right-click on them, and choose to exit, delete,or whatever it takes to get rid of them.If you don't want them to run when you start your PC,got to;Start/Run/type msconfig/click OK.Under your Startup tab, uncheck all the entires you don't want to start automatically. If you want to remove them from your system,go to Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs/highlight the
one(s) you no longer want, and click on the Add/Remove button.
Here's some more stuff on Startup programs;http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/index.htm

A week ago i would have disagreed with you Phylis.. I normally keep antivirus off unless im checking email or downloading something.. Last week i clicked a link from a search engine that led me to an infected server.. As soon as i clicked it panda popped up with quarantine warnings.. Panda software blocked it.. I just turned it on to scan a zipped font file..

Sam P,if they're not in Add/Remove,look for a folder created by and/or containing them, and look for an uninstaller.
