I want to play chinese software games. Do I need to install a Chinese OS or can I con the computing into thinking that i have one?

You could try installing the necessary language support files from Microsoft, or see if the games have language package files with them or on the maker's website?
Not sure really - just a thought, but I would definitely contact the game company and see what they have to say.
