I had windows me in my laptop but it stoped working so I decided to clean the hard drive and install xp, after doing that my pc became so slow . so my question is how to install windows 98.. what are the command that I have to use after I put windows 98 cd? I do not know anything about command ,,,,,,, I thought that windows 98 was easy to install as xp? can aynbody give me a hand please? :(

Not too sure why you're posting here in WinME, since you had XP installed and wish to install Win98 - not really a connection other than you used to run ME
Ah, well, instructions here - you'll probably want a bootdisk too
You'll need to eradicate the XP installation, either by formatting the hard drive, or, if you had the drive setup as NTFS then you will need to use fdisk (or something) to remove that partition and create a FAT32 one, then format and install Win98

hi jboy thanks for reply. I posted here because before install xp.. my laptop was running windows me.
I do no why those commando does not work. When I type c:\>MD windows
it say unable to create directory, any idea? what am I missing?

"I posted here because before install xp.. my laptop was running windows me."
That.... makes no sense - should I take my Ford car to a Volkswagen mechanic because "I used to drive a VW bug"? No, not really.
"what am I missing?"
I will resist temptation and merely say that I'm not sure. A lot depends on whether you actually removed XP and did manage to create a FAT32 partition (if needed). Also, that is just one method - another (more common) approach is to not bother creating folders and just run setup from the CD.
Of course, the hard drive still has to be "ready" for Windows 98 (properly partitioned & formatted)
