Hi
I get the prompt for the network password everytime I start up my computer. I never had a password. The prompt has come on from the day I got the computer (new from Dell). How do I get rid of the prompt? My husband and I do have a network, but this prompt was coming up before we ever set the network up. And we never put a password to it. We have no need, it's just us on the computers. Please Help!!

That SHOULD work... unless there's serious problems with the Windows installation.

I have a similar problem. My LOGIN properties are already set to FAMILY LOGIN. And I still get the prompt for password at every boot up. (And I always leave the 'password' line blank.)

Thing is, I'm using 98lite (www.litepc.com) with Win ME... and I think I really botched the install process... BADLY. I did it manually instead of automatically. (Live and learn...) Also, among various other problems, when I type in my username and password in the dial-up networking box and enable the "save password" option, it still always forgets my password.

I suspect I will have to reinstall Win ME from scratch to solve this. Oh well, I was planning on doing that anyway...
