How to format big HD for FAT32

Original Message

Subject: How to format big HD for FAT32
OS: Win ME
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon1.0/128
Comment:
I have a HP Pavilion pc with 40GB HD, it run WinME with only C: drive with whole 40 GB space( one partition ).
Now I just replaced HD to 60GB.
The problem is --- my bootup disk only can format FAT under FDISK for max. 2 GB.
After I type FDISK and enter, I get FDISK options ( 4 select option ), I did not get any message like " Do you wish to enable large disk support".
Therefore, I can not format 60GB HD to FAT32 for one partition.
I want format 60GB HD to one partition ( one drive C: ), then I can install WinME ( need keep winME for operating system ).

What are you booting up with? A DOS622 diskette?? All versions of Windows/DOS from 95B onward support FAT32

Computers in the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes and perhaps only weigh 1 1/2 tons.

Apparently you've already posted regarding problems with this drive.

If I can decipher what you said there (and I'm not so sure about that) - it may be a BIOS issue.

You should really follow up in your original post, or else include complete information in THIS post
