How to delete _Restore dir?

Comment:
I have several virus infected files located in my _Restore directory. I have turned off system restore but the dir is still hidden and wont let me delete anything in it. I tried to change the attributes and turn off hidden mode but it says access denied. I am logged in as the only user and administrator. What can I do to just delete the entire directory? My antivirus software (Mcafee) cant delete the infected files due to the access restriction. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you turn off System Restore, it should have purgesd all files in the directory.
Anyway, to answer your question, boot up with a Startup disk, and at a DOS prompt type Deltree c:\_RESTORE\ which will delete the entire contents of _RESTORE but leave the folder itself intact.

With deltree you don't need to change attributes.
When you do change attributes you should specify a file unless you want attributes of all files changed.
