click and highlight any text > right click and copy > and paste

[or go to Edit > Select All > Copy > Paste]

It will be saved on a clipboard from which it gets pasted. The clipboard gets erased with new files when you save something else. There are clipboards which can save multiple files. But you can use the Notepad to store files and save them in a folder.

You can find note pad in Start > Programs > Accessories

Create a short cut on desktop and quick launch bar at the bottom. Use the notepad to save any kind of information, phone numbers, URLs, emails. It is even used for HTML editing and for other type files.

If your talking about say.. pasting a program in the forum or an entire txt document that wont work. :) You can paste text as Rajan stated or upload the file to webspace and link to it.

I read your post about shutdown Sue. What newgrl wanted you to do was open msdos.sys with notepad and copy paste the text from the file into the comments area so she could see whats going on.

When notepad is open you rightclick an empty space and choose "select all" then right click a highlighted area and choose "copy". The right click the comments area in the forum and choose "paste".

Another way....
When notepad is open choose "edit" from the menu then "select all". Then choose "edit" from the menu then choose "copy". Then right click the empty area of the comments box and choose paste.

Heres my msdos.sys file :)
