How do you remove a program from startup

I found the program that is causing my problem, how do I remove items from startup?

right click on the start button, hit open, then programs, then startup -then remove the file

or just

Start/Run/ then type msconfig and click ok select the startup tab and remove the check from the offending program and click apply-ok and restart the system

The only true way to do it is start-run-type "msconfig" and go to start up. Dont go crazy unchecking everything. you need explore and espi setup checked if you have that
