How do I update my BIOS?

Dave, if your computer is working fine do not take the risk. There is no increase in performance, sometimes just the opposite can happen. It is not like a software download that can be uninstalled, if things do not work out, it is permanent. If something goes wrong you just made some people a fair sum of money to replace/repair the motherboard or bios. If you know the manufacturer of the bios go to the website and get the upgrade to flash the bios. If you do not know, go to belarc advisor and run the scan to find out. If you are trying to use a larger capacity hard drive there are much safer alternatives. Take care and all the best!

Follow the capt's advice.If you play with flashing the BIOS fire,you may get burned badly.
