try opening up Netscape, clicking on Help up there on the top and then in the search menu put the word "default" and one of the things that comes up should be how to make netscape default then :)
There is a dialog box that asks you if you want Netscape to be your default browser that comes up when you first start Netscape, unless you checked "Do not perform this check in the future". You can fool Netscape into believing it has never started before, which may get this dialog box back. Netscape stores a JAVA script file called prefs.js in a folder usually in Program files\Netscape\Users\defaultuser (this maybe somewhere else and you may need to use "Find" if you created multiple user files or gave this file another name). After locating the pref.js file in windows explorer, move it to the archive folder which should a sub-folder also in defaultuser. Restart Netscape. The dialog box should appear. Click the "Yes" button and Netscape should then be your default browser. Once you reenter Netscape you will have to reset any preferences you had such as not accepting cookies, etc. Or you could try overwriting the newly created prefs.js file by moving the old prefs.js file back from archive into its old location. This will give you your old settings back, but may or may not allow Netscape to remain your default browser.
