There is no Logo.sys. it is in the IO.sys file. If you save your startup image as logo.sys though and save it to c:\, Windows will use that Instead.

I tried putting my own startup logo.sys in C:, but it didn't work, seems ME wants its own logo or none, I changed my MSDOS.sys to Logo=0, now at least I don't have to see that silly ME logo........[Yes the logo I did try, did have the right attributes and properties, maybe some one will come up with a fix]........

Doing all of this(making a bitmap 320*400 8 bits, saving it as LOGO.SYS at the root) I get an ANNOYING problem! HOW do I stop windowsME from ROTATING the colors???? If you can't; what palette to use? Windows default? Please help, cos this is driving me insane since windows FORCE me to use the default screen! (Anyone who thinks this seems familiar btw?)

In order to make a decent splash logo, You first need to understand how palletes work. Inside each pixel of an 8-bit per pixel image is an 8 bit value, or byte that represents a color in value from 0 to 255. Those color values are defined in a pallete at the beginning of the file, and can only be manipulated by a few programs. Microsoft Image composer (on CD2 of frontpage) is one of them that actually lets you modify the pallete. The phenomenon you are experiencing with the rotating colors is intentional and can be avoided. It is accomplished by taking the last 20 colors in the pallette and rotating their position, so that on screen, anything that uses those pallete locations will have rotating colors. Image composer can automatically define a pallete based on 236 colors, so you don't run into that rotating region at the end. If you want more help, feel free to email me.
Or simply use a program called " Resource Hacker," A wicked program brah! it will let u customize everything, including startup screens.

I've changed the logo and it looks GREAT! Now I have a little problem that I can't solve. The MS-DOS screen shows up at the beginning, then the logo.sys (beautiful), then again the MS-DOS screen, and then again the logo.sys, before the Windows desktop appears. How can I make the whole startup show JUST the logo.sys screen, instead of going back and forth with the MSDOS screen?
